Friday 11th January

Wow! What a busy first week back! We have been getting our teeth right into our new topic ‘Ancient Egypt’, and I am really impressed by how much we have already learnt this week.

Aidan and Ciaran did some super chronology work when we looked at the timeline of Egypt. Their writing has come along so much since September, keep up your hard work boys. 🙂

We looked at what life was like in Ancient Egypt on Thursday and we produced some great drawings of Ancient Egyptian houses. It was really interesting to learn about what the houses were like all those years ago…who knew they slept up on the roof?!

This morning was very exciting; we had a special letter from the office of Indiana Jones, asking if we would like to join him as archeologists on his new mission to the pyramids in Egypt. We were all so eager to join him and wrote some wonderful job application forms. This afternoon we have even learned how to write in Ancient Egyptian hierogliphics! We worked so hard on writing our own name in hierogliphics; I can’t wait to put them up on our display! (Photo’s to follow soon)

This week are stars of the week are Harshvir and Carla; they have been absolutely fantastic all week and I am so proud to have them both in our class.

Have a brilliant weekend.
