Happy holidays!

I can’t belived it’s half term already! Where has the time flown to?!

I’ve been so proud if how hard year 4 have worked this week, they have really shown how mature and self-regulating they are. It was lovely to return after a hard working week in Spain to a very sensible and hard working class. I could have asked for more as a teacher and I am very grateful for everybody’s persistent hard work.

This week we have been beavering away writing our own fantasy stories. They really are wonderful and I know how many parents we’re impressed by the super writing skills when they visited me on parents evening on Wednesday and Thursday this week. I know Sophie’s mum was particularly proud of her excellent story opening and Stefan’s build up left me with such a cliffhanger I dont know how I’ll possibly wait until after the holidays to read the completed version!

This week has been very exciting as we have set up our very own Google classroom where we can upload all of the wonderful work we have been doing on our iPads during our topic lessons. Some of our work is also displayed on the ‘our work’ section of this blog- make sure to have a look and comment! It created quite a buzz in the classroom and the children worked tirelessly to complete their first ‘assignment’ that was set all about Roman gladiators. We can’t wait to use google classroom again after the half term.

We also had LOTS of fun on a science trail around school on Tuesday where we looked at different things around school and thought about whether they were a solid, a liquid or a gas.

Well, with that I wish you the very happiest of half term holidays, enjoy this beautiful autumnal sunshine and stay safe!

Miss Nicholson 🙂
